Hillary and Randy Mann, owners and operators of Post Falls very own Up North Distillery have brought distilling to North Idaho. Winners of 3 Gold Medals in the Denver International Spirits Competition with their Honey Spirits, Barrel Finished Honey Spirits, and Apple Brandy. They were also featured in Playboy as “Idaho’s Most Unique Spirit”. With just a handful of legal distilleries around the state Up North Distillery is different from the rest. They create their spirits from honey. PJ has been an entrepreneur since age 10, when he started a worm business, and sold it by age 12. Ryan Davis, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Kootenai County shares his experiences of starting the local non profit from scratch. When Ryan arrived in Kootenai County from Southern Idaho he had some ambitious supporters, and began the club in a church basement. Since, Ryan and the board of directors have helped build 2 club houses in Kootenai County, that impact 5,700 youth in our area every year.

Nick Mahin grew up in Long Beach California always dreaming of playing baseball for the Cal State Fullerton Titans. After many years of hard work, training, and a couple of different colleges he got his opportunity to live his childhood dream by playing for Cal State, and ultimately hitting a home run in the College World Series for the Titans.
In that same year, 2007, Nick was drafted in the 16th Rd of the MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox. After battling his way through the minors for seven years he realized it was time to give up on his dream of becoming a major leaguer, and moved to Idaho.
After bouncing around from different jobs, nick found himself drinking his life away as his truest love of his life had broken up with him, baseball. After a life changing accident he has kicked his addiction to alcohol to the curb and has become the Head Baseball Coach of the Coeur d’Alene High School Vikings.
Nick is a true inspiration to anyone who has battled the disease, and shares his story with us. Sit back, and enjoy!
Mike McCall, of Coeur d’Alene’s McCall Media specializes in architectural photography. Mike excels at telling the story of a home through photographs. Statistics show that home owners who use professional photography in the listing of their home get the home sold faster, and for closer to asking price. Mike who was born and raised in Hamilton Montana moved to Coeur d’Alene shortly after graduating high school with no intention or plans to become a professional photographer. While studying journalism at North Idaho College he discovered his talent and love of photography. Today Mike has photographed over 1,000 homes in Kootenai County, and has encountered many happy clients along the way.
